Drinking Water Distribution System Training (Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment) - Will develop and deliver three distribution system training courses to promote excellence for water system operators within the State of Colorado. The courses will focus on maintaining and improving water quality in the distribution system based upon drinking water community-accepted best practices. Partners: Damon S. Expanding Water Utility Services (Water Research Foundation 4171)
– Will explore opportunities for water utilities to offer new or enhanced services, with the objective of improving customer satisfaction, increasing effectiveness, or furthering other utility objectives.  Partners: Stratus Consulting (project lead), Satisfaction Works, Summit Blue Consulting, and 8 participating utilities.

Guidelines for the Implementation of Seawater and Brackish Water Desalination (Water Research Foundation 4078) - Develop and demonstrate a practical and readily implementable set of  decision support tools  – a useful and accessible compilation of practical experiences, resources, and guidelines – to help water utilities and other water professionals better navigate their way through the desal planning and implementation process. Partners: Stratus Consulting (project lead), Colorado School of Mines, 8 consulting organizations and 16 participating utilities.

Key Asset Data For Water Sector Utilities (Water Research Foundation 4187) - Will create a list of terms and a classification system that explain key drinking water and wastewater system assets and performance indicators to promote continual development of asset management programs. Partners: American Water, Arun Deb/ Jerry Snyder, CSIRO, Earth Tech, Glacier Publishing Services, Inc., James Wailes, 11 participating utilities, and 6 participating vendors.

Source Water Protection Cost /Benefit Tool (Water Research Foundation 4143) - Will develop an easy to use web based tool for estimating the triple bottom-line costs and benefits of source water protection. Partners include: Stratus Consulting, Kennedy /Jenks Consultants, EnviroTech (Douglas Crawford-Brown), Brian Naess Professional Web Design and 7 participating utilities.

Failure and Root Cause Analysis (CDPHE) - Evaluated data on Colorado drinking water systems to determine how the Division can best direct resources to support water systems in protecting public health and meeting regulations. The project involved reviewing compliance and other data routinely collected to determine when systems fail to meet standards specified in the Colorado regulations and the reasons for these failures. Training: From Source to Tap (Colorado Rural Water Association) – Develope and delivered training to owners, managers, boards, and chief operators of small systems to gain a high level understanding of the issues surrounding delivering high quality water. Partners: Water Advice Network, Glacier Publishing.

Colorado Guides for Public Water Systems (Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment) – A series of 7 guidance documents for Colorado public water systems based on system classification and water source.. The guides identify the key regulatory requirements and helpful tips for compliance. Partner: Glacier Publishing. Available from CDPHE.
